When reviewing Wall-E, this year’s Pixar animated film, I try to keep simple-minded. I don’t think it is an animated version of The Inconvenient Truth. Certainly, it does portrait an abandoned earth, and a survived robot programmed to collect waste, but the movie’s main story or message is not about environment. July 18th. Do you have this date marked? Well, you should, you don’t want to miss this film, and you shouldn’t wait any longer once it is released. All other summer blockbusters before The Dark Knight seem to be just a series of preludes to this cinematic climax, and honestly after The Dark Knight there will be probably nothing to look forward. I don’t know whether these statements are true, but it certainly feels this way. So, at this point in time, roughly two weeks away from the release date, we wonder whether The Dark Knight will live up to the enormous hype it has created, and really how successful it will be in the box offices.
